Blast Off 2019 — FAQ
As we receive questions from teams registered for this event, we will post more information on this page. Q: Who can participate in the Blast Off Rocketry event?
A: Rowan Blast Off competition is open to teams and individuals associated with a school or club rocketry program, and currently enrolled in grades 6-12.
Q: My school (or club) did not receive an invitation to sign up. Can we still participate?
A: Yes. Please use the Rowan Blast Off 2019 signup form to send us some preliminary information. Then we will guide you through the formal registration process and help with any questions you have about this event.
Q: what are the rules for competitive and invitational flights?
A: For types of flights, please click Event Rules.
Q: who provides the rocket launching equipment?
A: The event will provide launchers for the Blast Off rockets (rails and rods, consistent with TARC/NAR standards). If you wish to do a test-launch at SJTP prior to the event, please contact the event planners. If you wish to bring your own launchers to the event, please clear it with the event planners.
Q: Is there a registration fee for competing teams and individuals?
A: Rowan University Blast Off will NOT charge a participation fee.. However, teams and individuals are responsible for the costs associated with producing, testing, and launching their rockets.
Q: can we partner up for outreach?
A: Absolutely. Please contact the event coordinators if you would like to host a bottle rocket clinic, or a presentation offered by one of the rocketry mentors and professionals associated with this event.

Q: WILL THERE BE FOOD AT THIS EVENT?
A: Yes. There will be a couple of lunch trucks where participants, friends and family can purchase food of their choice.
Q: IS THERE PARKING ON-SITE?
A: Yes, there is a large parking lot on-site. Parking is free of charge. There is a reserved area for bus parking.
Q: I AM RELATIVELY NEW AT BUILDING MODEL ROCKETS. WHERE DO I START?
A: Estes Rockets has a very good collection of resources for rocketry education.
